Didn't even realize I haven't posted on here all week! I've been a busy little bee working on DT projects, but obviously I can't post them yet lol. Sorry for being MIA! Plus I thought it might be a good idea to get some new "eye friendly" storage pieces for my studio soo I have been busy putting together all that stuff too! Hope to get that finished and have everything set up tonight so I can get some pictures posted for tomorrow. *Fingers crossed*
Be back later :)

Some Exciting News!
A couple things:
1.) Ok, so I can finally share the secret I've been holding...
I was picked to be part of the design team for SPCC (Scrapmaster's Paradise Color Combos)!!! Thanks again, Samantha! I am soooo excited and cannot wait to start designing new cards for the color challenges! Be sure to stop by the SPCC website to check out and congratulate all the other talented new divas, and obviously to play along too! :)
2.) Last week I had the chance to check out the new mini. While I can't tell you exactly what it contained... all I can say is WOW. Seriously, WOW. I for one am very happy, because it contains lots of things that I have written to SU suggesting! It's great when a company really listens to its customers and demos! Plus it's funny to see that I'm not alone in the things I would like SU! to carry. Anyway, I cannot WAIT to pre-order some goodies (one of the best features of being a demo) to share with you all. FYI: you still have time now to sign up as a demo and get a chance to pre-order from the new mini so contact me if you have questions or are interested in signing up!
After having guests here this weekend, it's nice be back and sit down in my studio. But now, I'm feeling the "reorganization bug" and am antsy to move things around lol. I'm going to try to keep creating projects this week along with doing that. We'll see how that goes! I'm always interested/nosey lol to see what everyone elses rooms look like and what cool organization techniques they have. I'd really love to show off my little "studio" after all this time soo I'm hoping to get it finished sometime soon.
Okay, enough chit chat, off to work on some things!
Allison :)

A New Stampin' Up! Hostess Club!
*Staying at the top until club is filled - Please scroll down for my other posts!!*
Hey everyone, it's that time again... for a Hostess Club! yayy :)
I am aiming to start a new club for December 1, 2009 (tentative date depending on how many ladies I can round up to join by then!) and would *love* for you to join! I have two people interested in starting a new club and possibly a third, so if you are interested in joining a hostess club, now is the time!!
Here are the details:
* I am looking for 7-8 people who are willing to spend $15.00 a month (plus tax and shipping) for 10 months. Each month, the group's total will amount to $150.00 (or more), therefore the hostess for that month (each member will be assigned a month) will receive hostess benefits: $15.00 in free SU! merchandise and a level 1 hostess set.
* You may sign up for more than one spot but let me know when you email me. Example: if you sign up for 2 spots, you will be required to spend $30.00 a month (plus tax and combined shipping prices) but will also receive hostess benefits for two months!
* Preferred payment is via paypal (fast and secure) but I will also accept other payment options (just let me know when you email me).
* All orders will be combined and shipped to me. I will then separate and send the items off to their appropriate homes. Plus since I ship your order to you personally, I am able to add in extra goodies each month - be sure to look for more great SU! products and money saving coupons!
Interested in signing up? Or have questions?
Send me an email asap at prettypapersandmore@gmail.com with your name and address. I would love to get the club finalized by the middle of November!
Still undecided?
* The first two people to sign up will receive FREE SHIPPING on their first orders.
* The first person to sign up will receive an EXTRA $5.00 to spend on their first order.
Hope you'll join us! It will be lots of fun! :)

SPCC #23!
Hi everyone! I was hoping to combine my SPCC challenge with this week's MOJO sketch, but it just wasn't working out the way I wanted it to... so I scratched it, started over, and now am in love with what I came up with!! Honestly, wasn't sure what to think about these colors together... but I love love love them!
So here is the color swatch for this week:
And here is what I came up with:
When I took the first picture, the flash was so powerful, everything looked so much whiter and unappealing.... so then I took the picture without flash, but with a light shining on it and got this... colors a little muted, but you get the idea, right? ;)
I immediately knew I wanted to use my Garden Whimsy stamp set for this color combo... I have been dying to ink these stamps up! I tried to stick to the color combo as much as I could, but I really needed to make an executive decision and use the Old Olive for the flower stem LOL.
My only complaint with this card is that I wish the sentiment was placed slightly lower. I didn't plan to put that huge embellie there - sort of a last minute project - sooo the spacing is a little off for my liking. I tried moving it up, but with all the dimensionals and adhesive I put on the back of that guy, he was not going anywhere without taking the paper with it!
----------
Details: (all SU! unless otherwise noted)
Paper: Whisper White, YoYo Yellow, Melon Mambo, Not Quite Navy, and DP from Basic Gray
Stamps: Garden Whimsy
Ink: Melon Mambo, Not Quite Navy, Old Olive
Finishing Touches: Basic Black Corduroy Ribbon (Retired), Scallop Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Button Latte Buttons - Whisper White, Top Note Die, Stamp-a-Ma-Jig, Dimensionals, Cricut, Cricut Cartridge - George and Basic Shapes (Large Melon Mambo Circle), Hot Pink Embroidery Floss
----------
Hope you enjoyed my project for today! I am trying to get as many projects done tonight as I possibly can because we have guests staying here this weekend and staying in this guest room/my craft studio/library LOL = little to no crafting until Sunday night! eek!

Tieing up some loose ends..
So somehow I managed to get sick again! My students are killing me each week with their colds LOL!! Yikes. Thank you, Mr. Flu Shot. Glad we got them free through the school, otherwise that would have been a waste of $25 bucks...that I could have spent on scrappin' goodies ;) hee. I am *still* working on finishing up my Mini Kits (I really do put a lot of time and effort into these little guys), this week's SPCC color combo, and a 52 sketches sketch. Maybe a MOJO Mon if I have time lol. Maybe. Just please bear with me -- my creative juices aren't flowing nearly as fast with all the medicine in me :(
I hope to have at least one project posted before I head to bed, but we will see!! 0:)
Thanks,
Allison

Grand Reopening!
Ok, well it's not that grand but I am re-opening my Etsy store and filling it with new goodies! Because of the new Demo agreement we had to sign a couple months ago, I wasn't allowed to sell any non-SU! stuff in there - which was everything LOL - so I shut it down. But I got my act together and I have tons of awesome things to add to the store.
Here is a peek at something I will be adding this week: PRETTY MINI KITS! (Pretty as in the name of my Etsy store - not because the kit is actually really mini - LOL!!)
This mini kit that I will be sharing today is called HAPPY HOLLY. I took a couple pictures while I was putting these kits together to give you an idea of what's inside! Take a look...

Here we have one side of my little assembly space. There's scalloped DP, non-scalloped DP, Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon, Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon, Old Olive Top Note Die Cut, a Real Red ornament with a gold brad, and an Old Olive ornament.

And the other side: Old Olive Buttons, Hand Made Embellies, and two Holiday-themed sentiments.
Here is a close up of my hand made embellies. These were SO fun to put together, I don't know why I never made my own embellishments until now but it's definitely something I'd like to play around with more... mixing and matching papers and buttons and string - oh my!

A snapshot of one HAPPY HOLLY kit all wrapped up and ready to be shipped off to its new home!

Lastly, I have a photo of a card I whipped up quickly to show what can be made with the kit. I cheated a little bit and used two of the same ornaments... only because I thought there was already too much going on at the bottom of the card, I wanted to keep the top simple.
I will be posting these kits in my etsy shop tomorrow morning so be sure to stop by if you want one! I also have 3 more kits that I made and will be sharing them this week as well.
As a thank you to my loyal blog followers, I am giving you guys a discount on my mini kit. Here's how: 1.) Become a follower. 2.) Send me a message via etsy letting me know you're a follower and want to purchase a mini kit (or two... lol). 3.) Pick up your kit for only $5.00!! Thanks again for all of you that visit my blog... whether you leave a comment or not ;)

Cheer LO
Hey everyone... here is the LO that I worked on yesterday and promised today. I'm a little bummed, because I was looking for specific gold rhinestones to embellish my LO with and couldn't find what I wanted ANYWHERE. :( Do you ever have that happen to you? You have something imagined in your head (and I'm sure it's a real product) and just can't find what you're looking for. Frustrating!! Especially when the craft store is BEYOND packed and hard to maneuver through.
Anyway, for this LO, I decided to use a "vintage" (as in from last year lol) 52 sketches, 52 weeks sketch. *Hmm, I'm having an idea for a personal challenge... try to make a LO for each and every sketch... sounds fun! I'll think about this more and get back to you with what I come up with haha*
Soo here is sketch #2 from last year:

See the part at the bottom of the photo?? That's where I wanted to put my rhinestones :( If I find what I'm looking for, I'll be sure to edit my LO and repost :)
Anywho, here's what I did come up with, with what I had on hand:

I've been on kind of a "card break"... as I lost my card mojo for a little bit. BUT I have a lot lined up for this week so no worries about me being MIA again! This weekend I've been a busy little bee and CANNOT wait to share with you everything I've come up with!! :)
----------
LO Details:
Paper: DCWV Winter '09 DP and Cardstock; DCWV Spring '09 Cardstock
Tools: MS Double Scallop Punch; SU! Ornament Punch; Heating Gun; Corner Rounder Punch; Cricut; Cricut Cartridge - Cuttin' Up
Finishing Touches: SU! Delightful Decorations; Red & Green Embossing Powder; Versa Mark; DCWV Rub-on Stitching
----------
Thanks for taking a peek today!
